Frequently Asked Questions

1. What kind of weather can we expect during the trip?

2. What winter clothing should we carry?

Guests should carry: Thermal innerwear Fleece/wool layers Heavy insulated winter jacket Waterproof winter trousers Warm woollen socks Waterproof winter boots with good grip Gloves Woollen cap Scarf/neck warmer Normal Indian winter clothing will generally not be sufficient for Arctic destinations.

3. Is Northern Lights viewing guaranteed?

No. Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed. Visibility depends on solar activity, cloud cover, darkness and weather conditions. Northern Lights experiences are planned in Rovaniemi, Kiruna and Tromsø, but sightings remain subject to natural conditions.

4. Will there be enough daylight in January?

Daylight hours are limited in the Arctic regions during January. This is normal for Lapland, Kiruna/Abisko and Northern Norway. Some activities are therefore scheduled during the limited daylight period, while Northern Lights tours take place in the evening.

5. Do we need to carry cash?

Cards and contactless payments are widely accepted. However, carrying a small amount of cash for emergencies or minor expenses can be useful.
